Anita has worked within the NHS for 8 years and qualified with a BSC honours degree in adult nursing from Birmingham City University. Anita also undertook the non-medical prescribing course and is now a registered prescriber with the NMC. Anita's background since qualifying as a nurse has been working primarily in the community. Anita's current role has been working as a specialist tissue viability nurse within Birmingham Community. Anita provides specialist tissue viability care to patients all over Birmingham, including residential, care homes and patients known to the district nurses. Anita has also worked closely with GPs in east Birmingham to launch a lower leg ulcer clinic, this has prompted and promoted patients to empower themselves to self-care - this has been published in the trust magazine.
